Cycle path Oirschot-Boxtel (Netherlands)

A cycle path connecting two small towns in the south of the Netherlands. Oirschot (pop. 10000) and Boxtel (pop. 24000) in Brabant province. This 11 kilometer cycle track is wide enough so cyclists can ride two abreast and pass other cyclists riding two abreast. Other countries are planning facilities like these but in the Netherlands cycle paths like that exist today and all over the country. Paths this wide are simply the modern standard way the Dutch build cycle infrastructure. In the 11 kilometer the cyclists have right of way on almost every junction making fast riding possible. There are two junctions where that is not true. One of those junctions is regulated by traffic lights. The cycle path is not part of the modern 'cycle super highway' plan. There are also no street lights. This path is mainly used by school children and people going to work and back home.
