| Short video from the cockpit of a Thomas Cook A320, making the notoriously challenging visual approach to Funchal Madeira (LPMA) Runway 05. Flying the 212 radial from FUN VOR, we descend gently to be at 900ft by 6DME, before starting a right hand turn towards the coastline, and then following the marker beacons onto the final approach. I'm still a huge fan of FS2004, but I have to admit, there are some things that just look better in FSX! One of the add-ons that really makes FSX worth installing is Aerosoft's Airbus X - it has a great soundset, an outstanding visual model, and probably the best looking virtual cockpit available for any flightsim airliner. Also from Aerosoft, Madeira X is the latest incarnation of add-on scenery depicting this notoriously challenging airport - it's a massive improvement on their 'Wonderful Madeira' product, with high resolution textures and incredible detail throughout.
