They tried to beat me up and get me out of the car. I locked the doors and eventually drove up on the pavement and got away from them. It's kind of to do with that. It explains how you can feel safe inside a car in the modern world... When you're in it, your whole mentality is different... Gary Numan 'Are Friends Electric?' - AllSaints Basement Sessions

Gary Numan is, without doubt, a modern British icon. He continues to be name checked as a musical influence by world renowned artists; most recently Magnetic Man, Wu-Tang Clan and Matthew Dear. He is set to play his first ever singles tour, featuring everything from the punk debut 'That's Too Bad', to his first electronic release 'Down in the Park'. A selection of material from his critically acclaimed new album, 'Dead Son Rising', has also made the set list. Released in Autumn 2011, 'Dead Son Rising' was described by Artrocker Magazine as "one of the great conceptual dystopian rock albums of all time." The Machine Music Tour starts on May 22nd and is accompanied by a new DVD, 'Machine Music: The Best Of Gary Numan'. AllSaints Basement Sessions were privileged to capture the electro-pop pioneer in full live session. Shot in a secret World War II air raid shelter in East London, this breath taking performance blew the roof off!

This is my entry to a contest being run by my all-time favorite music artist, Gary Numan. It's set to his epic song "This Wreckage," from the Telekon album. The song's moody exploration of the destructive power of sudden fame anticipates the emotions that Quadra-Blu may experience as she becomes known throughout the universe, so I couldn't resist featuring her.
