| Hey guys, So I went down to Maryland today to pick up another ho scale athearn genesis sd70ace in Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) heritage 3 H3 roadnumber 9210, with dcc and sound. The last one i got had a broken number board and a burnt out ditch light, so i went back to replace it. Anyway, This locomotive is nice! The paint job on it is very nice, its bright and very clear. One can read the very fine caution print on the side of the locmotive. Athearn made a large amount of different roadnames for these models. Athearn acquired their molds from tower 55 and produced a very nice model. There is lots of detail on the grills, which are see through, on the piping, and on the models body itself. Overall I would say the appearence of the model is outstanding. Also, i was looking at the MTH sd70aces in the store, and i must say that from an athearn vs mth perspective, I would say the athearn wins by far in detail and paint . The slow speed performance is outstanding, and even though the locmotive is light it still ... |
