The board treated me well... I popped down a few stairs, a loading dock, some banks and ledges, and by the time I brought it to some transition (ramps), I noticed that it was still poppy... no sogginess to be reported. The entire setup was relatively light (nothing crazy, just a good weight) so I found it to be really responsive and reactive, meaning it didn't take a whole lot of effort to make the board do what you wanted it to. Good and snappy. The griptape... perfectly fine as a grip. I rode it with regular cupsole shoes *and* vulcanized soles, and didn't notice any issues. If I wore cupsoles, there was still plenty of friction to maintain a sure-footing, and when wearing vulcanized soles I didn't feel completely glued to the board. As far as the magical holographic Power Balance claims... I skated just like I always do, with no noticable improvement in balance, stamina, sense of well being, good vibrations, or anything remotely related to anything like that. I felt friction, which is what griptape is for. If the "technology" is as powerful as some people claim, then surely it woud have convinced me otherwise? I'm open to options here 1.
