And why not; big pectorals command respect. They're somehow primitively associated with courage and assertiveness. When you have pectoral muscles that only slightly protrude beyond your abdominal section, you're considered to be "in shape". What's more, in a world of male competitiveness where one's height seems to unfairly monopolize the aura of dominating physical stature, powerful pectorals can be a great equalizer. They tell the world that regardless of the level your genetics had you lengthened, you're packaged physical prowess by choice. You exude strength and athleticism with well developed pectorals. So what's the best method for developing a big chest? Well, that shouldn't be our only question. For if the pectorals aren't built in a balanced manner, excessive size can contribute to a feminizing effect on the male torso. Does anyone really want to develop "man boobs"? I didn't think so. Therefore, it's imperative that we make our pecs just a little bit top-heavy (upper pecs that protrude slightly more than the middle pecs) in our bid to increase chest size. Target inner pecs for massive chest - exercises

scoobysworkshop.com A lot of people want exercises to target their inner pecs so they can hold pens and pencils between their massive pecs. Here are my top three exercises to target the inner pecs: . . . Thats right, there ARE none! Let me explain. Last week we talked about exercises that target upper and lower pecs. Muscles are attached to a different bone on each end so they can pull and cause motion. The pecs attach on the upper arm and then either to the collarbone (upper pecs) as shown below, or the sternum (lower pecs). Incline type exercises work the upper pec, the part attached to the collarbone as shown above. Because the exercises listed below work upper pecs, the part attached to the collarbone, they do absolutely nothing for inner pecs: incline dumbbell press incline barbell press incline fly military press (if using backrest) dumbbell shoulder press (if using backrest) low cables pushups with feet raised Now lets look at the lower pec, or the part attached to the sternum as shown below: At least now we have a chance of working the inner pec because the lower pec attaches to the sternum where the inner pec can be found. As mentioned last week in upper and lower pecs, the motions that works this lower pec are the neutral angle like in a bench press or the decline plane like in a decline press. Upper/Lower Pec Mass Builders - Exercises For Chest

scoobysworkshop.com So what exercises work lower pecs and which work upper pecs. My standard answer to beginners is not to worry about it and just do a good all-around chest workout. But since you REALLY want to know, lets talk about it. First thing to notice is that the upper pec is really small compared to the lower pec and the thing this immediately tells you is that for chest mass, you want to work the lower pecs. The pecs are one muscle but they attach at different points which leads to the upper and lower pecs. The part of the pecs that attach at the collarbone are the upper pec and the pecs that attach to the sternum are the lower pecs. Now there are three basic types of chest exercises: 1) Those where you exercise in the plane perpendicular to your body, that is, as your elbows move closer together their relative position between your head and feet doesn't change. Exercises like dumbbell flys and bench press are this type. 2)Those exercises where your elbows move upward toward your head as they get closer together. Exercises like incline dumbbell press are of this type 3)Those exercises where your elbows move downward toward your feet as they get closer together. A decline press is a typical example of this. So, which of these types of exercises is going to work out upper pecs and which is going to workout lower pecs. Lets do some visualizing here.
