Quiz Show (Bible Contradictions)

This is a video response to all those people who claim that the bible is free of contradictions. Ummm - it isn't. I've looked. How NOT to respond to this movie: a) By assuming that I have not looked into these contradictions with any level of depth and accusing me of not having tried to understand any kind of "deeper meaning". Wherever possible, I consulted christians' explanations of what they like to refer to as "so-called contradictions" and errors. I've looked at the explanations. I've given them a good go. They're just shit. b) By saying that these aren't errors at all, rather, that they are simply copyist's errors. Uh- derr. A copyist's error is an error. I don't care what kind of error it is, just don't make the claim that the bible is completely free of errors, except for the cases in which there are errors, which are only copyist's errors only, which aren't really errors. Knock it off. I'm talking about the actual words on the actual page of the bible. When they don't add up, - that's called a contradiction or an error. c) If you agree with me that English translations of the bible contain errors, but you think that the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts are pure and therefore true - DON'T tell me this and then go on to criticise me and other skeptics for pointing out that the English translations contain errors! You've just said that you agree with me, that there are errors on the pages of the bibles that your god saw fit to let get corrupted in the first ...

The Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2011

The show we wait for all year round, it's the Big Fat Quiz of the Year! Your host is, of course, Jimmy Carr. Teams this year are: Jonathan Ross & Jamie Oliver (The Lisping Ninnies) David Mitchell & Eddie Izzard (Nexus-6) Miranda Hart & David Walliams (Les Be Friends) Unfortunately, no Noel Fielding this year :( Of course, I do not own any rights to this video. It all belongs to the fine folks at Channel 4, who I'm sure understand that we underprivileged non-Brits need some end of the year quiz fun, too... right? EDIT: Many are commenting on the paradigm shift here, having Walliams (who usually plays at being the teacher's pet) play the class clown this year, and I wanted to comment on this as well. Since I posted the video, I get to put my comment in the video description! In case you haven't noticed, every year there's always the "subversive" team that does mostly joke answers. Every team plays at their own slightly different bit, but it's more of a performance than a quiz. How they act one year to another isn't connected. If all the teams gave real answers, this wouldn't be any fun. Since there's no Noel Fielding team this year, which team would you rather have giving the joke answers? Wossy/Oliver is BORING. David Mitchell cannot be irreverent or it would explode the universe. The obvious choice was Walliams & Hart, and I think they did a really good job. I found them really funny.

Can they tell you what an MMMbop is and spot "the cute one" on sight? What do they really think about The Wanted? We caught up with 1D while they were in town and quizzed them on all these and more.

See below for footnotes.~~~ So here I go again, addressing the absurd claim that Nazi atrocities are inextricably linked to atheism. But given what he said on the subject throughout his whole life, I'd find that position pretty hard to defend. And what it had to do with his evil acts... well you get the idea of what I think of that argument. Astute viewers will notice that throughout the movie I don't blame Hitler's actions upon his being a Christian. Indeed -- was he a Christian?! Some may differ with me on this, but I say No, he wasn't. Not in any practical sense of the label. Saying his evil actions are linked to his status as a Christian either way would be as stupid as saying that they are linked to his moustache, or his atheism. Indeed -- that's the point. Atheist or theist, Christian or Hindu, Catholic or Lutheran: none of it matters. HE WAS A NAZI: ISN'T THAT ENOUGH? He was a frigging NAZI, with incredible political power that he'd achieved through shrewd statecraft over many years. Obviously THAT is the lethal combination. Not his moustache, not his vegetarianism, not his atheism/religion.
