The palm and the may make our country house gay, Lambs frisk and play, shepherds pipe all the day. We hear the birds tune this merry lay: Towittawoo, Puhee, Jugjug, Cuckoo. Fields breathing sweet, daisies kissing our feet, Young lover meet and old wives sunning sit. In ev'ry street these tunes our ears greet, Towittawoo, Puhee, Jugjug, Cuckoo. The sweet spring is here! --- Cristiano Rizzotto Vidal Pessôa (22), organist at the First United Methodist Church in Washington, NC, studies Sacred Music at East Carolina University (ECU).
