| Amazing color home movie shot during WWII of GIs eating their C-Rations in Italy. Silent. Runs about two mintues. This was loaned to me long ago by a friend of mine. He has no recollection of the actual unit, but you can see a 5th Army shoulder patch for a split second so it seems to set the location as in Italy. The mountains also seem to be Italian topography. These soldiers seem to be a maintenance unit of some type. (check out the "tents in Italy" film for more images of these guys) In the film you can see some nice varieties of the field jacket - M41, short billed HBT caps, sweaters, enlisted rain coats, HBT jackets etc. Notice the gold lacquered C-ration cans and the red markings on the M-1 Meat and Beans can. Its the best "chow" film I've ever seen. |
