Homemade plasma cutter torch water resistor

The cheapest way to limit current is to use a water resistor. It requires copper sulfate to conduct the current. Add to the point that you get 12 ohms then add more as needed to get the current up to the amount you want. The surface area of your electrodes will affect the amount of current passed. Please note this is for informational purposes only! This device is not isolated from ground and in this current version could, under correct circumstances, cause a lethal shock. This device was tested on a dry concrete slab and show a open to ground voltage of 7.3 volts.

Torchmate 2x2 CNC Plasma Cutter cutting sample over water table / bed

This video shows a sample being cut for a potential customer on a Torchmate 2x2 CNC Plasma Cutting table. It is using a Thermal Dynamics A120 plasma cutter cutting at 40 amps. We are cutting over a new 2x2 water bed made specifically for this new Torchmate 2x2 machine. It is cutting 14 guage mild steel. The Arc Voltage Torch Height Control is only sensing pierce height and is running in manual mode after piercing the material.

here we have a video of the water bed we fitted to the cnc machine back in june07 made from 5mm cold steel and water tight seam welded and no there were no leaks the design features a stowaway option where the water is raised and lowered using air pressure from an airline the video shows the water at cutting height and the machine cuttingsome test profiles the whole idea of using a water bed was to minimize the amount of fumes and dust that the machine generated when it had an empty base the water bed now has an anti corrosion agent that also repells insects from using the machine as a pond any questions or suggestions please contact us andy+scot
