| Happy new year 2012 from Taiwan! Taiwan is an independent, democratic country and not part of the People's Republic of China. On January 14, 2012, the 23 million people of Taiwan (also called the Republic of China) will freely elect their president and parliament. Do not fall for propaganda from the authoritarian regime in Beijing! The Taiwanese people overwhelmingly value their democracy, do not desire to be ruled by the People's Republic and want to be the masters of their own fate. This is not a question of "independence" or "seperatism", but of basic human rights. With a height of 509 meters, Taipei 101 officially was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010. Every year, the new year's fireworks draw huge crowds. Care for Taiwan?
