Upgrade is focused around the TC-8 control computer, this old style computer will be replaced by a state of the art PLC with colour TouchScreen terminal and high-tech control electronics for vibratory plates. A detailed study of the old TC8 Controller has been performed before working on the upgrade. It was then concluded that the old TC8 Controller has serious validation issues. The slides that catch the products falling from the vibrator plates once the bottle has reached it's count, are closed without ANY verification wether they are allowed to close. Closing of the slides MUST NOT BE ALLOWED when there is not enough spacing between 2 subsequent tablets. Failing this requirement leads to separation errors (1 short / 1 over in 2 subsequent containers) and to product damage (product may be sliced in half by the slide). The machine operator will not get any notice of this. This is unacceptable! All validation flaws have been eliminated in the new TC-8X Controller. Customers can choose to upgrade control computer only or include an optional upgrade of the detection unit's (sensor head) electronics.
