| A friend loaned me a Sony PCM-D50 and I just got a new Zoom H2n, so I put them up for a comparison. I used REAPER to generate a test tone, then used that test tone to match levels between recordings. I also included the Zoom H2 in the test, along with a reference track recorded with a Rode NT4 stereo mic into an Echo Audiofire Pre8. You can download the audio clips from this comparison, and get more information about home recording, video, and acoustic guitars at www.homebrewedmusic.com - information specific to this video is at http The guitar used for this comparison is a Lance McCollum GA, tuned to taropatch F, open G tuned down one whole step. The strings are CFCFAC from low to high. The cameras used were two Sanyo Xacti HD2000 camcorders. Their audio is pretty lame, sorry. Editing in Edius Neo Booster. Screen capture was accomplished with Licecap from Cockos software, the REAPER guys. For more slack key guitar please visit www.kaleponi.com |
