From the train station on King Tomislav Square (Trg kralja Tomislava) along the Green Horseshoe (Zelena potkova) to the central square Count Jelačić Square (Trg bana Josipa Jelačića). From the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary across the Central Market Dolac to Tkalčićeva street, through the Oktogon to Flower Square (Cvijetni trg Petra Preradovića). With the funicular up to the Upper Town (Gornij Grad) and a relaxing walk along Strossmayer Promenade (Strossmayerovo šetalište) before the big bang from the canon on Lotrščak Tower (Kula Lotrščak). Further and deeper into the upper town past the political heart of the country with the government and parliament buildings surrounding St. Mark's Church (Crkva sv. Marka) with its much photographed tiled roof. Down through the Stone Gate (Kamenita vrata) before the lamplighter turns on the gas lights in the Old Town. When the Croatian people achieved their independence in 1991, Zagreb became a capital - a political and administrative centre for the Republic of Croatia. Zagreb is also the hub of the business, academic, cultural, artistic and sporting worlds in Croatia. Many famed scientists, artists and athletes come from the city, or work in it. Zagreb can offer its visitors the Baroque atmosphere of the Upper Town, picturesque open-air markets, diverse shopping facili ties, an abundant selection of crafts and a choice vernacular cuisine. Zagreb is a city of green parks and walks, with many places to visit in the beautiful surroundings. The city will enter into the third millennium with a population of one million. In spite of the rapid development of the economy and transportation, it has retained its charm, and a relaxed feeling that makes it a genuinely human city.

Pulse Of The City - Zagreb

Pulse Of The City - ZAGREB A short film made of thousands of photos, timelapse and video sequences fulfilled with special visual effects and custom composed music. The goal of this film was to capture positive energy of the city of Zagreb, Croatia. The film also shows Zagreb's rich street and nightlife, culture and sacral heritage together with internationally known attractions, events and many more. Material for this film was filmed during the period 2010-2012, postproduction and special effects were made by Dražen Zeljković while music and sound effects were made by Zvonko Tešić. Gear used: Canon 5D Mark2, Canon 7D, Kessler's Cineslider, Revolution Head and Oracle controller with lenses Canon 17-40 F4 L, Canon 70-200 F4 L IS, Canon 100-400 F4-5.6 L IS and Sigma 300-800 F 5.6. Authors wish to thank to all the people and organizations who helped in making of this project.
