| The Cayenne Chili taste test (160k shu variety). I've got myself 3 cayenne plants growing & quite a few starting to ripen at same time, so figured do a taste test review seeing as hadn't done the cayenne yet. Taste & Texture: The flesh is very thin & feels like paper. Lots of seeds & very dry. Has a pungent capsicum flavor with a slight smoky, kinda dusty flavor to it, as well as a green veggie flavor & very slight hint of fruity flavor to it. Heat: These are the 160000 shu variety so they were pretty warm. They have a searing instant heat that attacks anything it touches & builds for about 30 seconds to a minute. Doesn't really attack the back of the throat but goes straight for the tongue & lips. Had the belly feeling kinda warm as well for a couple minutes. Then, almost as quick as the heat came, it's gone. Kinda neat the way it comes & goes like it does. Uses: I really don't care for them straight like that, but they are great to cook with. treat them kinda like you would treat garlic, as for as cooking goes because they taste great, but if you burn them, they get REALLY bitter in a hurry. Great for adding to any soup, gravy, or marinade. The culinary uses for this chile are practically endless. I appreciate you watching the video, thanks to June for joining me.
