| Here is perhaps THE BEST audience footage documenting the 1987-88 'House Of Blue Light' era of the then newly reformed MK.II lineup of Deep Purple. This video shows the band performing the MK.II classic 'Highway Star' in all it's glory. The place and date this Deep Purple concert was held, was in Vienna, Austria, August 26th 1987. This concert is one of the best 'House Of Blue Light' tour concerts the band did. As most of us fans know, Gillan was struggling a lot with his voice in the 80's due to throat surgery, which is why he dissolved Gillan, and Blackmore was by this point getting more and more unpredictable on stage, and showed less passion about playing, but at this concert, the whole band, particulary Gillan and Blackmore are in top form, playing and singing great, making this gig one of the more memorable ones from this tour. I have nearly every 'House Of Blue Light' era audience recording there is, and this this gig stands out, even just by listening to the audio of it. MK.II performing 'Highway Star' in all it's glory, putting a lot of effort into the performance, just like back in the day. The footage here is excellent, and the best that is out there when it comes to audience shot video footage from this era. There are no pro-shot complete or official live videos documenting the 1987 'House Of Blue Light' and 1988 'Nobody's Perfect' Tours unfortunatly, so this is perhaps the best we will ever get.
