Metallica - Nothing Else Matters

Nothing Else Matters est l'une des chansons les plus connues du groupe de thrash/heavy metal Metallica. Figurant sur le Black Album (1991), cette ballade dénote par rapport aux compositions habituelles du groupe : elle débute par une longue introduction jouée à la guitare acoustique et ses paroles parlent sur un ton mélancolique d'indépendance et de ce qui est le plus important dans la vie. Cette chanson a participé au succès commercial du groupe en lui ouvrant les portes d'une diffusion plus grand public : elle fut ainsi classé à la 65e place du Top 100 en 1993 et a depuis été reprise par de nombreux groupes hors de l'univers heavy metal. Nothing Else Matters est parfois considérée par certains détracteurs comme le symbole du virage qu'aurait pris le groupe Metallica par rapport à la musique des albums précédents, plus rude, plus trash et moins commerciale.

This film is nothing less than a masterpiece. It is a highly structured and stylized film about a serial killer. It created the serial kill genre, which includes such entries as Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. Alfred Hitchcock (the director of Psycho) was a disciple of Lang as were Jacques Tourneur (The Leopard Man (1943)) and Michael Powell (Peeping Tom (1960)). M was not only the originator of the genre, but arguably remains it preeminent entry. Highly recommended for those in the mood for a Hitchcockian-style thriller with a great performance by Peter Lorre and great story-telling technique by Fritz Lang

Justice League Unlimited - Destroyer (Series Finale Part 2 of 2)

Episode Summary Darkseid is back from the grave and has revenge on his mind with Superman as his target. Darkseid brings the armies of Apokolips to destroy the Earth and all of Earth's super-powered meet the attack. The end looks bleak but the world's salvation comes from an unexpected act of heroism. The Justice League confront the villains and Lex explains how they escaped Darkseid's attack and then knocked out Lightray of New Genesis to return to Earth. Superman is reluctant to accept the villains' help but they're interrupted when Darkseid launches simultaneous attacks across the globe via Boom Tube. The Justice League mobilizes and the villains insist on helping out. Superman agrees but Lex warns it'll be back to business-as-usual after they thwart Darkseid. Superman is beamed to Darkseid's flagship over Metropolis while the parademons launch their attack. Heroes and villains alike repel the invasion force across the globe while Superman, Batman, and Lex Luthor appear in Metropolis via teleporter. They easily dispatch the first wave of parademons and Darkseid descends to make his entrance and vows to crush Superman. Lex attacks Darkseid first to gain revenge for Darkseid destroying Brainiac, but Darkseid casually throws him off the building and Batman manages to rescue him. Darkseid grabs the Daily Planet globe and begins the fight, sending Superman plunging down through the floors. Meanwhile Darkseid sets up magma-tappers across the globe to create firepits and ...
