So it's been 25 years since the original hit We Are The World, and celebrities are once again banding together for a cause. While the first recording got set-up to help relieve famine in Africa, the latest studio session got switched from its initial anniversary remake to benefit the same USA for Africa effort, to instead provide aid to Haiti after the devastating earthquake in mid-January. This round, celebrities of all ages and genres met up to record the famous song as written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and produced by Quincy Jones - even showing up at the same exact Los Angeles studio from back in 1985. The We Are The World remake proves to be just as star-packed as the first one recording - which had almost 50 all-star musicians signed on - as the 2010 version boasts 100 of the industry's most popular and influential artists of right now. Looking at the lineup, it's pretty clear that project organizers wanted to make sure to represent all generations and therefore included living legends like Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Celine Dion and Gladys Knight to more modern marvels like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Keith Urban, Wyclef Jean, Will.i.am, Josh Groban ... |
