| A posthumous homage to the Leningrad music & artist Sergei Kuryokhin, it is based on his own musical work "Spectre of communism", and illustrated by images of the first rehearsal (1987) of the stage show "The Ring" ("Mercat de les Flors". Barcelona, 1988), where dancer-boxers fight with cameras attached to their right fists. The version in video "The Ring, was presented in Leningrad in June, 1990, bringing about the encounter with Sergei Kuryokhin and Sergei Sholochow, and the subsequent interview recorded in the city's canals that complements the work. Symbolic, choreographed visual combat between the agony of communism in its dying stages and the overwhelming triumph of universal capitalism. Sergei Kuryokhin died in 1996. Fifteen years later, in 2011, unforeseen circumstances have led to this posthumous homage. |
