Meaning for the Global Viewers- This devotional song has deep meaning. It says if we can't provide water to the thirsty, then offering even the elixir of life is of no use. It is better to help those in trouble than regretting it later. If we don't respect and serve our parents then visiting holy places and praying to God is of no use. When we go to holy gatherings and listen to enlightened words of saints, we realise that this precious human life is wasted if we don't have mercy and kindness in our hearts for the poor and needy. Offering food to a hungry person is better than any alms or donation. Taking bath in holy water only cleans our body. But it is more essential to purify our soul. Even after deeply studying scriptures like Veda and Shastra, it is of no use to be called a scholar and knowledgeable if we don't believe in spreading its light in the lives of others which gives the real satisfaction.
