HIs most famous fight was with Danny ' Kid Dynamite" Romero as they brawled for 12 close rounds for the heart of Albuquerque. It was a amazing and emotional performance by both guys with a prime Tapia winning. His life has had a lot of tragedy ,but inside the ring he has always been an amazing fighter. Great footwork ,good defensive ability and superb boxing skill made Tapia crowd pleasing and fun to watch. One thing is for sure,Johnny Tapia always came to fight. He was one of the greats.
