Hey Everyone, I'm Chelsea Cannell here with a Clevver Movies Update. Hugh Jackman had been really excited to get started filming the Marvel's Wolverine Movie, saying "The planets had finally aligned" once the project had Director Darren Aronofsky on board. But then Aronofsky dropped out after fearing it would take him away from his family for too long since it was scheduled to be on location in Japan. Then the earthquake and tsunami hit. So the setbacks seem to be mounting for Jackman's fox project. Well don't get discouraged- Jackman isn't! -- but he has said that while they just need a director, they aren't going to settle for anyone who isn't as good as Darren. As for filming in japan, the search for a director should give them time to ,as Jackman put it, "figure out what the situation is on the ground." So it seems the location and the director are both currently in limbo. What's not in limbo is Jackman's next project which will have him staring in a one man show at San Fran's Curran Theatre from May 3rd through the 15th. So he'll be Singing and dancing, and my guess is there surely won't be anything hairy or animal-like about that performance. So back to The Wolverine -- who do you think should take over the Director's Chair? Throw us your suggestions below, check us out on twitter ... |
