Cat Stevens - Cat Stevens (* 21. Juli 1948 in London als Steven Demetre Georgiou) ist ein britisch-zypriotischer Sänger und Songwriter. Seit seiner Konversion zum Islam Ende 1977 heißt er Yusuf Islam, als Künstler nennt er sich Yusuf. Der Sänger und Musiker beherrscht die Gitarre sowie das Schlagzeug und das Klavier. Sein Musikstil während seiner Schaffensphase als Cat Stevens und nach seinem Comeback als Yusuf kann am ehesten dem Folkrock oder Softrock zugerechnet werden. Zu seinen bekanntesten Liedern zählen Matthew & Son (1966), Lady D'Arbanville (1970), Wild World (1971), Moonshadow (1971), Father and Son (1971) und das Remake des englischen Kirchenliedes Morning Has Broken von Eleanor Farjeon (1971).
