가요계 다섯 명의 용감한 소녀들. 브레이브 걸스(Brave Girls / 은영, 혜란, 예진, 서아, 유진)가 더 시크하고 도도해져 돌아왔다. 아니 성숙하고 당당해졌다는 표현이 맞겠다. 눈빛부터 달라져 돌아온 그녀들을 노컷V가 만났다. 히트작곡가 용감한 형제(본명 강동철)가 직접 제작해 화제가 된 걸그룹 브레이브 걸스. 용감한 형제의 후광을 안고 등장한 그녀들은 레트로 R&B풍의 데뷔곡 '아나요'에 이어 후속곡인 레게 장르 '툭하면' 등 기존 걸그룹들이 시도하지 않은 음악들을 선보였다. 하지만 용감한 형제 '1호 걸그룹'이라는 수식어가 부담되어서일까. 지난 1년간 가요계 활동 성적표는 실망스럽다. '절치부심'(切齒腐心)한 그녀들이 내세운 건 두 번째 미니앨범 '리이슈(re-issue)'다. 제작자인 용감한 형제의 후광을 벗고 스스로 다시 이슈의 중심에 서겠다는 뜻이다. 타이틀 곡 '요즘 너'는 용감한 형제의 작품으로 일렉트로닉 팝 장르의 곡이다. 무게감 있는 드럼비트와 리드미컬한 기타 리프, 입으로 연주하는 토크박스 사운드가 듣는 이들의 귀를 사로잡는다. 음악적 변신은 물론 외모적으로도 변했다. 중성적인 매력을 어필하기 위해 보디핏이 살아나는 남자 수트를 입고, 시크하고 도도함을 위해 과한 섹시 노출의상은 자제했다. "이번엔 중성적인 매력을 보여드리기 위해 남자들의 행동을 유심히 관찰했어요. 남자들이 평소 거울 보면서 머리 쓸어 넘기고 구레나룻 만지는 모습들을 안무에 집어 넣었는데 반응이 좋더라고요." 앨범 콘셉트 때문일까. 데뷔 초 앳된 소녀들이 아닌 강인한 여성의 느낌이 물씬 풍겼다. 오는 4월이면 데뷔 1년차를 맞는 그녀들의 올해 목표는 단 하나다. 그녀들의 제작자이자 소속사 대표인 용감한 형제의 눈물. 아주 소란스러운 버스 안에서, 나의 세상이 마치 망가진 A/S center같다는 생각을 했습니다. 그곳의 나는 언제나 피곤하고 지쳐 있었고 좀처럼 쉴 수가 없었습니다. 매일 보는 풍경과 사람들, 어디선가 본 듯한 이미지들. 하루가 반복 되고 매일 밤이 되면 끊임없이 무뎌졌습니다. 그러다 문득 궁금해 졌습니다. 다른 사람들의 A/S center는 어떻게 돌아가고 있을까. 그래서 저는 관찰을 시작 했습니다. 사람들의 소리를 녹음했고, 직접적으로 그리고 때로는 아무도 모르게 그들을 영상으로 담았습니다. 그렇게 2012년 3월 7일의 A/S center가 지어졌습니다.

Prior to the departure of 31 Canadian Brigade Group (31 CBG) personnel from Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Canadian soldiers observed US National Guard soldiers playing an interesting version of the game Tug of War. 31 CBG soldiers were fascinated by the spectacle and cheered on the competitors. Finally, one young Canadian soldier dared to challenge the hometown crowd, and put national pride on the line. In this video, Master Corporal John Celestino of the Windsor Regiment (left), participates in a game of Tug of War with a US National Guard soldier (right). This version of the game builds esprit de corps and really works the leg muscles...just ask Master Corporal Celestino! Nearly 300 reserve soldiers from 31 Canadian Brigade Group, the formation of army units in South-western Ontario, trained at the Indiana National Guard training centers at Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center (near Edinburgh, Indiana) and Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (near Butlerville, Indiana) from March 10 to 17, 2012. The exercise began with preparation training at Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center, leading to a large-scale helicopter deployment and ground assault at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center. Army Reservists train part-time throughout the year while maintaining civilian careers or attending school. Many took time off from work or studies to attend the exercise.
