CYCLE RIGA "Cycle Riga" is a movie about the local population, tourists, even architectural buildings and different pieces, characterized by a continuous steady stream of circles. Nothing is eternal, but everything goes round and round and thus the city life remains eternal. The music, "Perpetuum Mobile" was chosen in purpose as has symbolic meaning. The film received Riga Summer School's Certificate of Appreciation 2011. A film by: Beāte Bēvalde, Latvia; Akvile Gelaziute, Lithuania; Lela Rukhadze, Georgia. 1941 Riga Captured

July 9, 1941. Deutsche Wochenschau No. 566. The suburbs of Riga are in German hands. In a few hours the city is cleared of the enemy. Fire brigades go immediately into action to put out the fires set by the retreating Soviets. For the third time since 1917, this old Hanseatic city with a 700-year history which has a close connection with the Germanic world, has been captured by German troops. The entry of our troops is greeted by the jubilant population. A short rest after the difficult battle.
