The Dirsmith Group design concept drawings illustrate our creative vision of how to blend a new series of environments harmoniously into the incredible magic and mystery of what hotelier Carlino Cinque had already built on this remarkable site. We first met Carlino when we found IL SAN PIETRO over a third of a century ago. Our family had returned to Italy where we had spent 2 years as Fellow in Architecture at the American Academy in Rome. We wanted to share the magic and mystery spawned by some 2000 years of marvelous Roman, Italian history with our 3 children. Little did we know as we started that journey that we would soon discover one of the most beautiful places in the world, IL SAN PIETRO, designed and built by one of the most remarkable human beings we have ever met, Carlino Cinque. Our children, as all of the guests, became mesmerized by the wonder of IL SAN PIETRO and the loving charm of its creator, Carlino.
