The episode kicked off with Sugar announcing to the Glee club that she was hosting a Valentine's Day party at breadsticks, but still needed a date—prompting Artie and Rory to immediately start fighting over her to try and win her affecton. Meanwhile, Rachel and Finn make their own announcement about their engagement, and Rachel's dads plan a dinner with Finn's parents so the families can celebrate. Everyone is fully immersed in VDay—with Kurt receiving multiple valentines from his secret admirer—whom he assumes is Blaine. Finn hires the God Squad—Mercedes, Sam, Quinn and Apollo—to perform Stereo Hearts for Rachel, which then prompts Santana to want to buy one for her GF Brittany, but the God Squad says they have to think about it. Cue the drama! Rory reveals he sadly didnt get approved for a visa again and must return to Ireland after the school year—which incidentally makes Sugar like him more. Mercedes meanwhile, sings I Will Always Love You to Sam, telling him that she finally told Shane about them, but still can't be with him until she figures herself out. Rachel and Finn's collective parental units pretend they're excited about their upcoming wedding, and tell them to go upstairs and have a sleepover—hoping they'll start fighting and decide they're too young for marriage.
