| Requested by Carnkhan4. --- Millenia ago there existed a beautiful cherry tree. A poet happened upon it while it was in bloom and, entranced by it's beauty, longed to spend his last moments beneath it's blossoms. AS news of this spread, more and more people chose too to die beneath the cherry tree, until it developed the powers of a youkai. Named Saigyou Ayakashi, the tree was able to invoke death in all who saw it. Meanwhile, Yuyuko Saigyouji, an otherwise normal human, found herself to have a similar ability. Finding herself unable to control this power, she chose to end her life rather than live in fear of unintentionally casuing someone else to lose theirs. Yukari Yakumo, a boundary-controlling youkai and Yuyuko's closest friend, was eventually chosen to seal away Saigyou Ayakashi forever, to prevent it from taking any more lives. To do this she bound Yuyuko's soul to the seal. Her soul would never pass on, and she would exist as a ghost. Hakugyokorou, the gardens surrounding the now sealed Saigyou Ayakashi, became the ntherworld, a resting place for spirits who were not yet ready, or unable, to pass on. Part of the seal caused Yuyuko to forget the pain she had felt while alive, but this also made her unaware that she was the one holding the seal. Many centuries later, Yuyuko's curiosity is piqued when she discovers that someone lays under the sealed cherry tree, sealing it. She decides to break the seal on the Saigyou Ayakashi so that she may revive the one burid ... |
