Large Hadron Rap

Rappin' about CERN's Large Hadron Collider! Links below... Apparently YouTube fixed the sound! Still, Will Barras made two options trying to get around the original problems: Other YouTube:www.youtube.com Vimeo: www.vimeo.com Vimeo is downloadable if you log in. There has been a lot of interest in the original mp3, lyrics, and vocals for remixing. You can find all that here: www.msu.edu There's also been interest in translation. You can get a subtitle-free version from Vimeo here (downloadable): www.vimeo.com With backing track available here (with and without Hawking-style voice): barras.ws Go ahead and translate, rap it, and post it! Just give us a shout-out, and it's probably a good idea to include the following credits ;-) Images came from: particlephysics.ac.uk, space.com, the Institute of Physics, NASA, Symmetry, and Marvel I forgot Einstein Online, and they called me out: www.einstein-online.info And I forgot Physics World (dunno what I was thinking when I put together the extra dimensions bit). Steve Abel set me to rights (but made no demands) physicsworld.com The talented dancers doubled as camera people, with some work by Neil Dixon. Stock footage is CERN's. Will Barras is responsible for the killa beats: www.ling.ed.ac.uk And thanks to MC Hawking, who first thought of using computer-voice to bring Stephen Hawking to the world of rap :-) www.mchawking.com The rapper has a day job (we agree this is a good thing) as a science writer. www.katemcalpine.com They'll ...

SCIENCE & PHYSICS BEHIND MUTATION OF HUMANITY via CHEMTRAILS, EMF's, SOLAR RADIATION, SUPERMOON

100% proof liquid crystals are being dumped in our atmosphere in the guise of "contrails", clouds, etc. Here are the precise observations of these substances which match precisely to the extraordinarily unique properties of liquid crystals: 1. Obvious visual comparisons in "static" like appearance including size, shape, orientiional alignment, velocity, etc. 2. Unique refractory properties of light enhancing illumination (supermoon anyone?), prism effects at certain densities, bright pink/orange at sunrise & sunset. 3. Clearly defined plasma membranes in the orb structures which morph in & out 4. Precise geomerty matching liquid crystal formations including circular & hexagonal structures. 5. When viewing the formations with Edge Detection the formations clearly originate from a central source spreading out in dendritic patterns up & over the sky 6. There are precise wave patterns from the liquid substances which also flow out in viscous fingering 7. You can clearly see these crystals in their various phases including nematic & smectic states 8. These formations clearly form a grid-like pattern, unique to crystalline substances, which act as a waveguide or super highway for EMF's to transmit through our atmosphere. This is now a no-brainer & you need to recognize the human race is under attack by a dark force who is manipulating the skies to eliminate the protective aspects of our atmosphere so that solar radiation & EMF's from our modern day technology are enhanced ...

2011 Isaac Asimov Memorial Debate: The Theory of Everything

Can the entire universe be explained with a single, unifying theory? This is perhaps the most fundamental question in all of science, and it may also be the most controversial. Albert Einstein was among the first to envision a unified theory that could account for the behavior of all matter and energy in the cosmos, but a definitive solution has eluded physicists to this day. As the 21st century progresses, "string theory" remains the leading candidate to be the "theory of everything"—although some have come to question whether string theorists are on the right track. Still others doubt that a "theory of everything" exists at all—and consider the search for such a theory an outdated philosophy of our search for cosmic truths. Join Director of the Hayden Planetarium Neil deGrasse Tyson as he hosts and moderates six of the world's leading voices in this great scientific debate. Panelists: Dr. Katherine Freese, professor of physics at the University of Michigan Dr. Jim Gates, professor of physics at the University of Maryland-College Park Dr. Janna Levin, professor of physics and astronomy at Barnard College Dr. Marcello Gleiser, professor of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College Dr. Brian Greene, professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University Dr. Lee Smolin, theoretical physicist at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics The talk was recorded at the American Museum of Natural History on March 7, 2011.

Feynman 'Fun to Imagine' 4: Magnets (and 'Why?' questions...)

Physicist Richard Feynman explains to a non-scientist just how difficult it is to answer certain questions in lay terms! A classic example of Feynman's clarity of thought, powers of explanation and intellectual honesty - and his refusal to 'cheat' with misleading analogies... From the BBC TV series 'Fun to Imagine'(1983). You can now watch higher quality versions of some of these episodes at www.bbc.co.uk/archive/feynman/
