8a. Climate Change - Phil Jones and the 'no warming for 15 years'

The perfect example of what I was saying in my last video appeared soon after it was uploaded. The Internet was abuzz with a quote from Professor Phil Jones that there has been no global warming since 1995. But is that what he actually said? Once again, we need to go to the source -- Jones's own words -- rather than Internet gossip based on an interpretation of what he said. If we check the primary source, it's a very different story. In fact, Jones and his team did detect warming since 1995. In this video I go to the source, and find out why the tabloid press got things so wrong. I have to correct part of the video where I gave an example of what an 80% statistical significance would mean (for the statisticians out there, this is a p-value of 20%). I said this would mean 80% confidence that global warming was a real, underlying trend, and not the result of background fluctuations. While some statisticians accepted this as a broad explanation for the layperson, others felt it deviated too far from the precise meaning, which is this: =If global warming was not happening, there is only a 20% chance we would see this result.= A 90% statistical significance (if that's what Jones achieved) of the 1995-2009 temperature data would mean If global warming was not happening, there is only a 10% chance we would see this result. Meshuggah Medley Drum Cover - Tomas Haake by STAN BICKNELL

*For my original track 'Electrolegs' from my band The New Caledonia- www.youtube.com *Here is my Mars Volta Medley - Jon Theodore www.youtube.com This was filmed and recorded as one continuous, single take with no editing to the videos or drums in post production I put this medley together to show my interpretation of some of my favorite Tomas Haake/Meshuggah moments. I did this solely to challenge myself. Once I had chosen the grooves I wanted I arranged them using Ableton Live with no edits or tempo changes. I was aiming for flow, groove and climax with the arrangement. I committed the whole medley to memory and learnt it all by ear. I do not transcribe. I played along to the medley in my in ears with no click track except at 1:54 and 8:26 where the drums stop momentarily. Transformers Soundtrack - Arrival to Earth & Scorponok Piano

Like me on Facebook: www.facebook.com Follow me on Twitter: www.twitter.com Sheet music: www.mediafire.com Midi: www.mediafire.com Me playing my own interpretation by ear (and later wrote out on sheet by myself - see above link, its free of charge as I am not interested, unlike others, in taking anyones money) of 'Arrival to Earth' followed by 'Scorponok' from the Transformers original score/soundtrack, by Steve Jablonsky. Its hard to believe the original score was never going to be released, just the soundtrack with popular songs was released at first, then I think through demand the actual score by Steve Jablonsky was unleashed to the world lol. I love the soundtrack and its one of my favourites in recent years, I did my best to transcribe the pieces by ear, and adapt for solo piano, and I am actually very pleased with the results considering I only spent a matter of hours putting it together. Please excuse my strange ninja impression at the end of the piece :) Thanks for listening ;)

The two stars live up to the "schmuck" moniker with a barrage of obnoxious antics. If Paul's faux French scene or Steve's embarrassing Little League story don't make you crack a smile, the "maudlin face dance" and its antidote "happy face dance" are sure to leave you laughing.
