12 Gauge Foster Slug in Ballistic Gel

Testing a 12 gauge 1 oz Foster rifled slug (hollow base) in a ballistic gel format at a distance of 20 feet. Using SIM-TEST Ballistic Testing Media that has been recalibrated to match the properties of 10% ordinance gelatin. Brief review pre-shot followed by evaluation of the tested media. Test gun is the Mossberg 590A1 Special Purpose shotgun, 20" barrel. With a muzzle velocity of 1600 fps, this 1 ounce (437.5 grains) piece of lead is packing 2484 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle. We could see a 50 lb block of gel go airborne! Filmed with two Sony HD AVCHD camcorders; HDR-CX560 at 28 mbps 60p and HDR-CX110 at 24 mbps. Please note that I was very far away (my distance to the stage was probably over 100m) and I had to use the full zoom (40x) quite a few times so the quality is not perfect. Also the camcorder had a wrong bitrate setting (my colleague's fault) so yes, it might have been better but I still think this is the most complete and best recording of the first night of the 'Black album' tour. Btw. if you think the video & sound is out of sync, it's not true - the sound is equal to what you see directly on the stage (however, the video on the screen is always delayed). 210 YARDS BALLISTICS GEL TEST: .223 Hornady Superformance Varmint V-MAX

Ballistics gel test at a laser-measured 210 yards with the .223 Remington Hornady Superformance Varmint V-MAX, 53 grain. What better method for evaluating the performance of varmint ammo than at typical varmint hunting distances? Test rifle is the Bushmaster Varminter, 24" barrel. Brief pre-shot review, followed by full review of the bullet track, etc. from the 210 yard shot. I am using SIM-TEST Ballistic Testing Media, calibrated to the same specs as ordinance gelatin. Filmed on remote private property with an ample backstop. I was the only person in the vicinity during this session. MOSSBERG 590A1 SHOOTING MONTAGE

More than 30 shooting segments with the Mossberg 590A1 Special Purpose 12 gauge smoothbore pump-action shotgun. This model (51663) features a 20 inch barrel, 9 shot capacity ( 8 + 1), and ghost ring sight. I have owned this firearm for several years and it has proven to be 100% reliable and extremely durable. Its versatility is showcased in this video. Viewable at 720p or 1080p HD if the bandwidth works for you. I used a variety of ammo; 6, 7 1/2, and 8 birdshot, 4 buckshot, 2 3/4" 00 buckshot, 3" 00 buckshot, 1 oz Foster rifled slugs, and some Dragon's Breath. The dual slug hits near the end of the video were at 140 yards. Steel targets are from Mike Gibson Targets. EOTech 200 Yard Target Session

200 yard target shooting session with the EOTech 516 Holographic Weapons System. Sight is mounted to my AR15 carbine; Rock River Arms upper receiver with 16" barrel and Bushmaster lower. I am using .223 Remington, Fiocchi 55 gr FMJ. With the exception of the first target setup at 170 yards, steel targets are AR500 steel from Mike Gibson Targets. Video features dual cameras during the shooting sessions for picture-in-picture effect; from the shooting position and at the target.
