| Shooting 5.56mm 64 grain tracers, surplus XM856, at a laser-measured 800+ yards. I am using an AR15 Rock River Arms/Bushmaster 16" carbine with Troy BUIS. Video includes multiple camera angles, slow motion, and a "nightvision" camcorder setting. This was on the same site that I utilized for my 700 yard AR15 video in January 2010. Viewing at the HD 720p or HD 1080p settings will give you the best experience. This was recorded on private property with consent of the landowner. As is typically the case, I was the only person involved with filming the video. This is a huge tract of property covering several square miles. It is fairly remote; 4-wheel drive territory at best. On both setups, my presence was confirmed with the landowner, and he indicated that nobody was on the property. I confirmed this myself with a drive/walk through on the first setup, and drive through on the second setup...including the boundaries. After both sessions I revisited the target area. I was aware of my backstop and possible maximum range for the shooting line. On both setups the ground was green and wet due to rainfall throughout the week and on the dates for the video. I had wide long-range visibility to the only "road" entering the area, along with optics. It is imperative that you have optimum ground conditions for shooting tracers, and a clear visual of your backstop. |
