Jamal 'Gravy' Woolard has BIG shoes to fill in the new movie Notorious

Jamal Woolard really had some Big shoes to fill in playing the role of the late rapper the Notorious BIG, and he did just that. He pulled off an excellent performance and took the time to sit down and talk to me about it in this candid 1-on-1 interview with rapper/ actor Jamal 'Gravy' Woolard. No, that's not the Notorious BIG That's Jamal Woolard, who has just been cast by Fox Searchlight to play him, Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls, in the upcoming biopic Notorious. Man, the only possible critique I could come up with is that his eyebrows are a little dark. That's some spot-on casting. They're definitely not Dead Wrong. Voletta Wallace, Smalls' mom, is happy with the casting as well: "it was Jamal's charming personality, warm spirit, wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile that won my heart. He is a talented and charismatic actor and I am excited that he will bring Christopher's character to the big screen." Topping that off, Woolard also has the real-life experience to make this pop. THR adds to the press release, explaining that Jamal is a drug-dealer-turned-rapper just like Wallace was. Under the directorial eye of George Tillman Jr., we've got Woolard as Wallace, Angela Bassett as Voletta, Derek Luke as Sean Combs, and Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in April 1962 by guitarist and harmonica player Brian Jones, pianist Ian Stewart, vocalist Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. American R&B and blues cover songs dominated The Rolling Stones' early material, but from the start they have included rock and roll in their repertoire. The Rolling Stones are credited for raising the international regard for the primitive blues typified by Chess Records' artists such as Muddy Waters, who wrote Rollin' Stone, the song after which the band is named. Jones initially led the band, but after forming a songwriting team, Jagger and Richards assumed leadership. By 1969, as Jones contributions to the had greatly diminished, his inability to tour the United States for legal and health reasons lead to him leaving the band, and he was replaced by Mick Taylor. Three weeks after his departure, Jones drowned to death. Taylor quit in 1974 and was replaced by Ronnie Wood. Wyman retired from the band in 1993, and his replacement Darryl Jones became the primary bassist, but not a full member. Stewart was taken from the official lineup in 1963 to continue as the band's road manager and occasional keyboardist until his death in 1985. Purged -- A gothic short animation and experimental film by James Lee

An angel is banished to the cold plains of purgatory. Purged was completed before I started work on Tarboy, and I figured it was about time I packaged and released it on Newgrounds and Youtube. It was my third year animation project in college and the first larger scale short film I completed. It was also the first project completed that Hania and I collaborated on. The production of this was an absolute nightmare to say the least. Working on this project was the reason I decided to do Tarboy completely in Flash. My overall pipeline for animation looked something like this: 1.Draw images on paper. 2. Scan into Photoshop for digital paint. 3. Bring into morphing software for head turns 4. Export into Flash for character animation. 5. Export into Adobe After Effects for compositing. 6. Export into Premier for Editing. I'm thinking this will receive a mixed response, but at this stage I'm glad it's finally out. Interview: Vinnie Paul and Corey Taylor about Dime's and Gray's deaths [Lydverket Show]

Norwegian TV show Lydverket aired a mini-documentary about the deaths of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) and Paul Gray (SLIPKNOT). During the eight-minute segment, which can be viewed below (with English subtitles), Vinnie Paul Abbott (PANTERA, HELLYEAH) and Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) spoke openly about how they dealt with the losses of their bandmembers and friends, and in Vinnie's case, his brother. The interviews were conducted on October 30, 2010 before Vinnie and Taylor were due to go on stage at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England with HELLYEAH and STONE SOUR, respectively. While Taylor used concerts as therapy and as a tribute to Paul Gray, Vinnie Paul said he didn't know if he would ever go on stage again. "I lived inside a bottle of vodka for eight months," the drummer told "Lydverket". Asbjørn Slettemark, who hosts the "Lydverket" show and conducted the interviews, says he was moved by how both Paul and Taylor spoke openly about the tragedies in their lives.
