The Tan and the Green are still at war, and when several of their tanks meet in a remote desert valley, chaos ensues. Who will die and who will live? Will the Green defeat the skillful enemy tank crew, or will the evil Tan reign victorious? Shells will fly and plastic will sizzle in this explosive stopmotion short. This is the parade in Moscow's Red Square, devoted to the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War (what the Eastern Front of World War II is called in the former Soviet Union), in the Great Patriotic War, 9 May, 2010. In this historic event, for the first time ever, soldiers of the Anti-Hitler Coalition of the Allied Nations are participating in this military parade. Soldiers of the USA, UK, France, Poland, and CIS (the former Soviet Republics) nations honorably march past Red Square. Presiding over the military parade is Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation; Anatoly Serdyukov. Commanding the parade is commander of the Moscow Military District, Colonel General; Valery Gerasimov. General Valery Gerasimov is a graduate of the Suvorov Military School (1973), and the Tank Troops Academy Named After Malinovsky (attended 1985-1987). The Combined Orchestra is lead by director of the Moscow Military District Orchestra, Major General; Valery Khaliov.

The phrase "hand-to-hand" indicates unarmed combat but often allows for the consideration of weapons usage and implementation. Close combat is the common term for combat within close range. It may include lethal and nonlethal methods across a "spectrum of violence" or within a "continuum of force" as established by rules of engagement. Unarmed close combat is sometimes called combatives. Close combat with weapons may be called close quarter battle at the squad level. Current NATO terminology is to use 'MOUT'(Military Operations on Urban Terrain) for higher-level strategic and tactical considerations of urban warfare or MOOTW for "military operations other than war" such as peacekeeping or disaster relief. Combatives is a term used to describe various hybrid martial arts, which incorporate techniques from several different martial arts and combat sports. Close combat is the most ancient form of fighting known. A majority of cultures have their own particular histories related to close combat, and their own methods of practice. There are many varieties within the martial arts, including boxing and wrestling. Other variations include the gladiator spectacles of ancient Rome and medieval tournament events such as jousting. The German 6th Army has surrendered at Stalingrad, & the Italians in charge of protecting the German's flanks in Russia are about to bear the brunt of the red army counter-offensive. Mussolini's Ravenna and Cosseria infantry divisions are holding a defensive position on the banks for the Don River in Russia.. Without German support, the ill equipped Italians fight bravely but are easily smashed by the hammer & sickle of Stalin's hoardes.. Light Italian armor is no match for the hard charging T-34's who punch through them like paper.. This marks the beginning of the end for the fascist campaigh in Russia, from here there is only, defeat, retreat, & captivity for the Italian.. From the warm beaches of Tuscany to the stark infinite frigid tundra of the Russian plains, death for the Italian Soldier was bitter indeed.. Historical Background: 1941 (22 June) -- Axis powers attack the Soviet Union. 1941 (14 July) -- beginning of the Italian campaign in the Soviet Union. Mussolini joined Hitler's Operation Barbarossa by ordering the preparation of a military contingent to fight at the Russian front. The Italian Expeditionary Corps in Russia was comprised three divisions (Torino, Pasubio and Celere, the latter being the only one motorized).
