Military Vehicles [Russia]: БМП-3/BMP-3 IFV/APC (СВРФ)

Language of Video Presentation: Russian (Русский Язык). The БМП-3 (English: BMP-3) is a Soviet tracked amphibious infantry fighting vehicle, successor to the BMP-1 and BMP-2, which entered service with the Soviet army in 1987 and was first observed by the West in 1990. БМП stands for Боевая Машина Пехоты (transliteration: Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty) literally meaning "Infantry Combat Vehicle"). It is also partly an APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier), capable of carrying 7 soldiers who are deployable through two 2-piece hatches on the back of the vehicle. The BMP-3, nicknamed Troyka, is one of the most heavily armed infantry combat vehicles in service, and very well protected. Early models were powered by a 450hp engine UTD-29, but most BMP-3's are now equipped with the 500hp UTD-29M version. The majority of BMP-3s are in use outside of Russia with the United Arab Emirates being the largest operator: Azerbaijan - 4 (total of 60 on order) Cyprus - 43 Greece - 430 BMP-3HEL on order Indonesia - 20 BMP-3F on order South Korea - 70 Kuwait - 120 Russia - 550 Saudi Arabia - 250 of an unknown variant to be ordered. Iran Announces New War Game Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, naval commander for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, said on Friday Iran will conduct a second military exercise in the Persian Gulf in February.
