PUMA @ The Towers: Vertical Marathon, Dubai, May 28th

Standing at 265 meters high, with 1334 steps & 52 floors to climb, over 200 contestants kitted out in PUMA kicked off the Vertical Marathon at the foot of The Jumeirah Emirates Towers at 8am in Dubai -- UAE on Friday May 28th. Once up, they where greeted with the PUMA party elevator; complete with disco lights, pumping music and dancers - to bring them down to earth after their grueling physical challenge. Serving as a 'surprise mascot' was a legendary world famous climber; best known for scaling the Empire State Building in several Hollywood movies ;) PUMA ran an interactive competition for the racers giving them a chance to win fantastic PUMA goodie bags by guessing the number of shoes placed strategically along the course; another good reason to beat the clock. For the third year running, PUMA got involved with the Vertical marathon to help organize and raise funds for the independent humanitarian medical organization, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) www.msf.org

Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark Dubai HD

Oktober 2011, Palm Jumeirah Atlantis "Aquaventure" Einer der besten Wasserparks Weltweit erwartet uns auf der Palmeninsel "Jumeirah" vor Dubai. Mit modernster Technik wird dem Besucher hier ein Spaßprogramm der Extraklasse geboten. Nicht nur die Fläche des Wasserparks von 16000m²,sondern auch die Gestaltung der Anlage und schlicht weg die Lage sind sehr beeindruckend. Der gestufte und schon von weitem gut sichtbare Ziggurat-Tempel mit einer Höhe von 30m, ist Ausgangspunkt für diverse Wasserrutschen. Eine von Ihnen ist die "Leap of Faith" Körperrutsche, mit einer Fallhöhe von 27,5m, einer Gesamtlänge von 60m und einem Gefälle nahe der 90° machen diese Rutsche für Adrenalin Junkies zur Pflicht. Ein weiteres Highlight von "Aquaventure" ist die Shark Lagoon am Fuße des Ziggurat-Tempel, wo 2 der 7 Wasserrutschen durchgeführt werden. Einen so hautnahen Einblick in den Lebensraum der Rochen und Minihaie bekommt man wohl nur mit einer Sauerstoffflasche und einem Neoprenanzug. Der ganze Wasserpark ist mit einem 2,3km langen künstlichen Flusssystem durchzogen und beinhaltet diverse Wasserfälle und Stromschnellen. Dem Besucher von Aquaventure ist es dabei selbst überlassen wo er zusteigt bzw. aussteigt, dafür stehen im übrigen eine Vielzahl von Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung. Um den Endlosen Spaß im Flusslauf zu garantieren wird der Besucher samt Schwimmring auf Förderbändern einige Meter hinaufbefördert um dann die nächsten Stromschnellen und Wasserfälle geniessen zu können. This building will be the first of it's kind! It will have 80 individually rotating floors which will make the building shape shift and morph into an ever changing structure! At no time will be look the same! And... in between the floors with be 79 wind turbines which will generate all the power for the building as well as 3 others! Residents will be able to view the Burj Al Arab, The Palm Islands, and Jumeirah Beach for a small monthly rent of only $3000 per sq. foot! :) lol!
