| Georges Gumpel, a Holocaust survivor, sees a parallel between his early life and that of Alae-Addine, a Moroccan teenager threatened with deportation by immigration officials in France. Pensioner Georges was hidden from the Nazis by the French Resistance and he is now offering shelter to Alae-Addine in his apartment in Lyon. Any day now, the unlikely duo, whose stories span a religious divide and more than 60 years of history, will find out if Alae-Addine's bid to stay in the country legally has been successful.
