Two Shots: Side by Side Sling-X-Bow

The christmas tree crossbow shot so well that I decided to make a nicer weapon with the same concept. So I made a side by side double shooter with steel levers, a steel system and a stainless steel "barrel" (16 mm tube). The "fork" is very narrow as it has to be the same width as the two hooks for the ball+pouch, so the two shots are parallel. The levers are held down by two rubber strings, quite effective, just like the christmas tree design. Carved a stock from multiplex, dyed it with ink and oiled it with linseed oil. This is a great shooter! Feels a bit odd at first to not have a trigger, but I got over that quickly. A "The Slingshot Channel" production!

Karabiner Slingshots!

Two more homemade slingshots: Same concept, but different sizes. The slingshots presented in this "The Slingshot Channel" production have been made from stainless steel karabiner snap hooks. The advantage is that you can exchange bands very quickly. One full size slingshot and one miniature version is shown, including super slow motions of the shot and impact. Classic Albums - The Band (HD)

I would like to bare my soul about The Band. You all have probably seen The Last Waltz. Most of you like me that had not heard of The Band before seeing The Last Waltz eventually research and have the very sad discovery of finding out that Richard committed suicide and that Rick was taken away from us way to soon. Garth who appears to be mother earth is around but fades into obscurity. Robbie uses his new found fame to catapult his career in composing music scores for hit movies and writing hit songs for artists such as Eric Clapton and maybe takes way too much credit for the legendary songs The Band had made famous. Levon is alive but his voice has been damaged from throat cancer. However, you discover that the news isn't all bad. He still plays the drums quite regularly. His voice is recovering and he's actually beginning to sing again. He is in a band with his daughter Amy and I'm more than sure she is proud to call him papa. Wow! Rick and Richard! I just now realized how truly similar their first names are to one another. Rick and Richard were the two fraternal brothers with very great promise and talent. Levon and Robbie were husband and wife and the two proud parents of the both of them. Garth was the grandpa that everyone love and look to for encouragement and wisdom. Eight unregulated weapons vs. Ballistical Gelatin

The Slingshot Channel finds out how commercial and home made slingshots compare to crossbows and blank firing guns when it comes to the impact. Therefore, certified ballistical gelatin (yes, the "Mythbusters" type) has been used to measure the performance. The shots are filmed both in real time (50 pictures per second) and in hi speed (1200 pictures per second), so the effects can be seen quite clearly.

So it had to be a metal slingshot, but without welding - therefore, heavy bolts and nuts have been used. It had to be the "W" design as this is simply the most efficient frame ever encountered by The Slingshot Channel (thanks to Bill Herriman again, who pointed this out to us some time ago). We removed all the fancy things a power slingshot does not need - no rotating handle, no hinges, straight forward. The slingshot is shot with very heavy ammo.
