The Moon Shines Bright (Trad. arr. John Renbourn)

FACEBOOK www.facebook.com BLOGSPOT tonyrclef.blogspot.com EMAIL tonyrclef@gmail.com Album "tony r clef - tuesday afternoon" on Itunes "The Moon Shines Bright" Theme and Variations by John Renbourn Until recently available from Mel Bay in "Mel Bay's complete anthology of medieval and renaissance music for guitar by John Renbourn". Apparently this book is no longer in print. Somehow when Renbourn plays this, it sounds all hearth and homecoming and "hail fellow well met". When I play it, it sounds like Boris Karloff unlocking the crypt at midnight on the eve of All Souls Day. but i kinda like that. Martin 000-17s; mahogany construction Open g-minor tuning (dgdgbflatd)

Robert Hood - Unix

Robert Hood - Unix Label: M-Plant Catalog#: M•P315 Format: 2 x Vinyl, 12" Country: US Released: 1999 Genre: Electronic Style: Techno, Minimal Real Name: Robert Hood Profile: Robert Hood makes minimal Detroit techno with an emphasis on soul and experimentation over flash and popularity. Having recorded for Metroplex, as well as the Austrian Cheap label and Jeff Mills' Axis label, Hood also owns and operates the M-Plant imprint (including the two sublabels Drama and Duet) through which he has released the bulk of his solo material. Hood was a founding member, along with Jeff Mills and Mike Banks, of the Underground Resistance label, whose influential releases throughout the early and mid '90s helped change the face of modern Detroit techno and sparked a creative renaissance. Infusing elements of acid and industrial into a potent blend of Chicago house and Detroit techno, UR's aesthetic project and militant business philosophy were (and remain) singular commitments in underground techno. Hood left Detroit (and UR) with Jeff Mills in 1992, setting up shop in New York and recording a series of 12" EPs. Through the mid '90s, Hood has focused on his solo work, setting up M-Plant in 1994 and releasing singles such as "Internal Empire", "Music Data" and "Moveable Parts". Although his desire to remain underground has been replaced by an urge to reach a wider audience, Hood remains fiercely critical of artistic and economic movements destructive to inner-city communities and has ...

Portraits 4

"I was born in the artistic family and faced the art when I was a little child. Once I was looking at the book with Proto-renaissance artists which became my favourite for many years. I found a lot of awesome portraits with strange weird emotions in that book. Some people was ill, some angry, some crazy and some had empty indifferent eyes. It was not used to show the people that "perversion" way nowadays and that was real discovery for me. Since that time I had a passion for a human face and tried to find that kind of pictures everywhere. I spent a lot of time looking at the family photo albums or newspapers or magazines. I tried to find something that I liked and something that disturbed me at the same time. Later I recognized my willing to create something myself. And the photography was my choice. My favourite thing is to show something in other not stereotypical way. It can be scary nuns, people pretending to cry or unhappy children - everything that is not expected to see. I use artificial nature of a digital photography as a tool to reach the point between opposites such as alive and dead, attractive and disturbing, beautiful and ugly. Thus I'm searching to transcribe the feeling of presence that you get while passing the plastic mannequin. Meanwhile I believe that the surface of the photography is very important. And I try to do photos in a beautiful way, inspired with a classical paintings. Not for the beauty itself, but to create more powerfull images" (Oleg ...

In loving memory of Cristina Vespucci [ACB]

-siiiiiigh- why did Cristina have to die? I'm not afraid to say I cried after. Her words "I wish we could have had... a second chance" made me shiver and still has an affect on me now. I loved Cristina...and I feel so bad for Ezio. Everyone who's close to him just has to die and I hate it. I really wish they could have had a second chance... I wish Cristina just went with Ezio and they'd get a second chance then have a baby who grew up to be an Assaasin just like his/her daddy. It would've been amazing. But no...Savonarola just had to kill her right? I wish I was an Assassin in Renaissance times to go team up with Ezio, join the Assassin's creed and help Ezio along the way So anyway, I hope you enjoy this video. I hope it get's you thinking and I added some lyrics from the video in parts that would make sense with it. So make sure you read those. -- I used this song because well, I love this band first of all and I'm lucky to have had this song on my iPod because when i listen to songs I usually think of good videos that would go along with them. This song was I guess the best one I could find to use, the few verses I wrote as the song played really meant alot in terms of the story. How the song goes "you watch me bleed" also goes along I'd say. But instead it would maybe be like "you watch us bleed" because as time goes by, they don't know it but they're breaking, drifting apart. They're bleeding. And then it's too late. I hate using Windows Movie Maker to make videos ...

Live Halloween performance of "A Prairie Home Companion"

Seen on Halloween, 2005, just weeks after wrapping the Robert Altman film; "Prarie Home Companion", this live show was enjoyed after taking a long train ride from the west coast to cold, humid Saint Paul, Minnesota, where Garrison Keillor has performed his classic live radio show at the Fitzgerald theater since 1974. This particular night they were doing a sketch where the great Sue Scott was rebelling against GK for not using her enough. Fun to see it live on stage after hearing it on the radio for so long. They have a blast doing it and this show is a genuine holdover from the real live radio days in the 1930's-50's in this country. Thank god for garrison Keillor, an actual bonifide Renaissance man in our time.
