Who is the last in the line? I will be the next one. Family, society, collective -- as a mirror it multiplies our fears and our microscopic victories. "Next in Line" is a game which was invented by a son of the Basque Country, a real dance rebel Asier Zabaleta. The rules of the game were learnt by the participants of the Chelyabinsk Contemporary Dance Theater. 13 players and two screens are on stage. And in each screen there are 13 players more. And next to each -- one more. And to that one -- yet another, next in line. "Next in Line" is a performance-participant of Intradance Project. ZAHRBAT choreographer: Brahim Bouchelaghem (France), 35 min. TsEKh'10 FESTIVAL OF DANCE THEATERS FRENCH PERFORMANCES PROGRAM WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF RUSSIA-FRANCE YEAR 2010 December 5, 2010/Moscow/16:00, Aktovy Zal Zahrbat or "rolling stone", that is how the father of choreographer and dancer Brahim Bouchelaghem was called. Passionate gambler and adventurer, he moved from Algeria to France in order to get work and ended up losing everything playing poker. Brahim inherited a lot from his father: the uncontrollable passion and drive, the desire to take risks, to fight till the end, to remain faithful to one's true self. All of these personality traits he transferred into his dance -- sometimes brutal, sometimes romantic, and almost always - unpredictable. Hip-hop by Bouchelaghem is just a language that one can understand. The story that he tells is multifaceted and philosophical: the story of his love to his father, the sweetness of sinking lower and lower, the unquenchable desires, the national specificities of playing poker. TsEKh'10 FESTIVAL OF DANCE THEATERS PROGRAM OF RUSSIAN PERFORMANCES December 12, 2010 /Moscow/20:00, The Meyerhold Centre "Sleeping Beauty" is an "installation for adults", it is a performance which is dramatic, even tragic. Visually the performance reminds of frescos which came alive. Medieval references are evident. A black chapel gleams mysteriously. A fantastic mill-machine appears on stage, and a girl-dreamer runs along it into nothingness. Around her the accompanying artists are intertwined in inconceivable poses. A NEW GEOMETRY Tatiana Gordeeva, Eugeniy Pankratov (Moscow/St.Petersburg), 26 min. TsEKh'10 FESTIVAL OF DANCE THEATERS PROGRAM OF RUSSIAN PERFORMANCES December 10, 2010 /Moscow/ 16:00, AKTOVY ZAL Tatiana Gordeeva is well-known and loved by the audience interested in contemporary dance. She is a talented, gifted dancer. She is also an unconventional choreographer with her own style and charisma. Little however is known about her new duo partner Evgeniy Panrkatov: he was born in Petrozavodsk, but lives in Germany where he studied in dance department of Folkwang University of the Arts. Here is what Tatiana and Evgeniy say about their new piece: "We were inspired by some features of the Saint-Petersburg spring: waste collected over the winter and suddenly revealed, puff-up and slightly doomed looking pigeons, frozen rats in the canals and other creatures of the urban landscape. As in every journey the movement in space, in forms and states per se interested us in this duo, as well as the metamorphoses of the journey participants' perception, and under "participants" we understand the audience as well." Cedric Andrieux -- is the real name of the person up on stage. This person is moving, smiling, changing clothes and at the same time he is telling his story: how he got "infected" with dance, having seen TV show Fame, about the attitude of his family to ballet and contemporary dance, about work and friendship with the great Merce Cunningham and about life without Merce Cunningham. Jerome Bel -- French dancer and choreographer lives and works in Paris. While preparing "Cedric Andrieux" performance he for two years held oral and written interviews with Cedric which serve as the basis for the performance. TsEKh'10 FESTIVAL OF DANCE THEATERS FRENCH PERFORMANCES PROGRAM WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF RUSSIA-FRANCE YEAR 2010 December 4 and December 5, 2010 / Moscow / 20:00, The Meyerhold Centre "Press" is a choreographic tragedy exploring the topic of the destructive force of the notion "the usual, the same as everyone else". Contemporary person is infinitely simple and familiar, but at the same time frighteningly complex and unusual. His movements are standard, his desires are cliché, his life is a cardboard box. Pierre Rigal placed his character in a closed space not only physically but in the moral sense as well. He is a victim of his "commonly accepted" notions about life, of his ideals which are "generally approved". TsEKh'10 FESTIVAL OF DANCE THEATERS PROGRAM OF RUSSIAN PERFORMANCES December 11, 2010 /Moscow/ 20:00, The Meyerhold Centre Mirliflor is a co-production of Dialogue Dance Company from Kostroma and Karine Ponties from Belgium which was created within the framework of Russian-European project Intradance. The title of the performance in Latin means "fragrance of a thousand flowers", the four dancers are not just four fictional characters but collective representations which unify inner worlds of millions of people. The characters exist in the common space which is rather abstract, where all of their secret desires can be released. Their behavior which is at times quite aggressive, as well as the feeling of impunity bring to light things which usually remain hidden and demonstrate weakness of the human nature. Karine Ponties: "Mirliflor -- is a performance about people who "forget themselves", about the reserved inner beauty, which moves the four characters in the space where everything is possible. Amusing and strangely familiar they immerse themselves in the passion of the matter and discover their human fragility... Mirliflor -- is the fragrance of a thousand flowers, an old Latin word, its second meaning is "dandy". LOST MOMENTS 2 Tatiana Gordeeva, (Moscow/Saint Petersburg), Vladimir Golubev (Chelyabinsk), 30 min. TsEKh'10 FESTIVAL OF DANCE THEATERS PROGRAM OF RUSSIAN PERFORMANCES December 12, 2010 /Moscow/ 16:00, Aktovy Zal Tatiana Gordeeva, a dancer and choreographer, produced "Lost Moments 2" together with Vladimir Golubev, a former participant of the Chelyabinsk Contemporary Dance Theater, who is now a budding choreographer. "Lost Moments 2" is an atmospheric performance about the discordance in a relationship of two people. The characters remain close, but interaction does not work out, whereas sparks of emotions happen when the partner does not see them. This is a story of love which is eaten up by the everyday life, tenderness which turns into habit, and the chances to meet Zhanna the Alien, are dwindling. A Belgian choreographer Ann van den Broek acted as a consultant for this production, her performances Co(te)lette, I SOLO MENT and We Solo Men were recognized by the European critics as the most impressive productions of the recent time.
