| Video and photos of bizarre lights in the night sky in the community of Lages in the wetlands west of the mountain chain of Paituna, which sits west of the City of Monte Alegre along the northwest bank of the Amazon River in Brazil, where the river bends north-south after Santarém, and bends back east-west at Monte Alegre. The area has ancient rock art dating back to the end of the ice age, most of which depict sun and moon halos, but also animal and human stick figures. A few images also depicted other objects in the sky such as comets, eclipses, stars, planets, possibly a supernova, . . . and perhaps things currently unexplained. The house and community where I was staying has no electricity, and with the new moon, the first night was particularly great for viewing and filming these events. It was a lot harder to find and video the lights in the ensuing days when the moon lit the sky brighter. On May 13th- Friday the 13th, I tried to video a light that appeared over our house but just as I focused on it, it disappeared entirely, right before my eyes . . . no clouds in the sky at the time. These lights are not just here in Brazil, they are far enough away to appear like stars, and can probably be seen from most places on earth. Filming them is harder due to light pollution |
