| I've created a small video that shows how to convert a file through SketchUp, so that it can be used in STK Satellite Tool Kit. The video starts out with a default SketchUp file. I remove the default model, then I load the SKP file that I got from a customer. Then I create a box and move it out of the way.. This box facilitates in helping to rotate the model a little later on in the video. 1:00 Use the box tool. Start at the origin, click with the LMB and begin to drag out a plane. You will notice a "Dimensions" box on the lower right hand corner of SketchUp. You can use this box to manually type in the dimensions you wish. Mine is a 1 meter square plane. Then I use the "Push" tool. Shortly after I start, I just use the "Dimensions" box and type in 1 for a 1 meter tall box. Then I center the box on the green Y axis and move it up the red X axis, just to get it out of the way. 1:49 I select the model in "Outliner" and switch to a top view and move the model of the MQ-1C, and center it on the red X axis. Then the model gets rotated on the blue Z axis 90 degrees, so that it lines up with the red X axis. The model then gets moved along the red X axis until it looks centered. 3:00 When you use the rotate tool, you first select the object to rotate. Then you can select something to set the tools orientation. This could be geometry or an axis. Then select something to set the rotations arm or base. Again, this can be an axis or geometry. So, at the 3:20 point, I am selecting the ... |
