Das Burj al Arab. Noch ist es das weithin sichtbare Wahrzeichen des Emirats Dubai.Aber der Nachfolger ist schon fast fertig. Höher, teurer, sensationeller. Der Burgh Khalifa.Am 09. September 2009 wurde dieses mit 818 Metern höchste Gebäude der Welt eröffnet.Dubai steht für die arabischen Visionen des 21. Jahrhunderts. So beschäftigte der Bau der Palmeninsel, the Palm, jahrelang die Medien.Jetzt ist die Palmen-Insel fertig und die Apartments und Häuser auf den Palmenblättern werden bald bezogen.Besonders eindrucksvoll ist die Fahrt mit einem Boot zur Krone der Palme, dem Luxushotel ATLANTIS. 2008 wurde es mit viel Prominenz und einem Riesen-Feuerwerk eröffnet.Solche Projekte lenken immer wieder die Augen der Öffentlichkeit auf Dubai.Genauso wie eine Ski Halle mitten in der Wüste. Bei ständig minus drei Grad können die Kinder der Wüste sich auf den nächsten Skiurlaub in St. Moritz, Davos oder Kitzbühel vorbereiten.Aber auch die in Dubai arbeitenden Ausländer lieben die Abwechslung von der Hitze.Sonne, Sand und See, das waren die Schlagworte mit denen in Dubai zu Beginn der 90er Jahre der Tourismus begann.Und dazu luxuriöse Strandhotels. Gemeinsam ist allen ein schattiger Garten, ein eigener Strand und eine abwechslungsreiche Pool-Landschaft. Abraj: The two towers of Dubai

Abraj: Plural of Burj which is Arabic for Tower. Timelapse video featuring the two iconic towers of Dubai. The Burj Al Arab and the world's tallest building. The Burj Khalifa. Commisioned to shoot various timelapses of the Emirate by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. This is an edit I put together for myself of some of my favourite shots. Including some amazing views from 154 floors up on the Burj Khalifa.
