Turkish Elite Troops in Cyprus

The TAF, with a combined troop strength of 1356281 soldiers, is the second largest standing force in NATO (after the United States).Currently, up to 36700 troops may be stationed in the north of Cyprus as part of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Force. Budget $49 Billion Fit for Military service : 40645893 Towards the end of the 1980s, a restructuring and modernization process valued at US$ 300 billion was initiated by the Turkish Armed Forces, and continues today. The final goal of Turkey is to produce new generation indigenous military equipment and to become increasingly self-sufficient in terms of military technologies.Turkey is now ranked as one of top ten strongest militaries in the world and it is speculated that the turkey world power to the end of 2020. Bhutan Crowns New King

ZHANG: In one of Asia's only remaing monarchies, the people of Bhutan are celebrating the coronation of their new king today, a 28-year-old with an Oxford education. The popular king is expected to continue his father's policies of modernizing Bhutan and guiding the county smoothly down the road of democracy. STORY: [Yeshey Dorji, Bhutanese Foreign Secretary]: "Today is the formal ceremony of the coronation of his majesty the king of Bhutan." Namgyel Wangchuck assumed the Raven Crown of Bhutan. He is now entrusted with guiding the world's newest democracy as it emerges into the modern world. Wangchuck spent much of his life in the United States, Britain and India. He will receive the crown from his 52-year-old father, who modernized Bhutan during his reign, imposed democracy and then stepped down from the throne in 2006. India's president and foreign minister were among the 30 diplomats from around the world who were present at the coronation. The citizens of Bhutan have had to wait two years for this day, after astrologers deemed 2007 a "black year," unsuitable for any major events. Most say it has been worth the wait. Five decades ago, Bhutan was a feudal, medieval place with no roads, proper schools or hospitals and scarcely any contact with the outside world. Today, education and healthcare are free and life expectancy has risen to 66 years from less than 40. Loksatta party president Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan speaking on current crisis in Telengana. Summary: Police are not acting against bad people in society because they have power. They are acting now on students. There is custom that police does not enter schools and they generally follow it. However when there is loss of public property or fight between wife and husband, police enter. However police should use equipment like water canons, rubber bullets and we lack modernization and we see loti charge and stone pelting. When there is need, we entered in temple in 1984 and we were not happy but it is needed. If the riots are causing public property loss or violent incidents, then police has right to enter. Central government has to step in and should not treat as simple law and order problem and should start honest discussion and guaranteed measures instead of forgetting it after few days. We are still thinking 610G.O. even after NTR proposed 24 years ago but we are not working on it. We have not worked on six point formula implementation. We did not work on removing corruption and worked on self interests for mines, properties and ignored the people. Even now or even in Andhra movements, poor people are the one who suffer and participate in movements.

'Super Biton de Segou - LP : Taasi Doni ... probably from the early 80's. They call it 'Mandingo Rock', electric but inspired by the traditional sound. They won several times at the 'Biennales', National Music Festival. Many Thanks to globalgroove . globalgroovers.blogspot.com Keïta, Seydou (1921- 2001), Malian photographer, born and active in Bamako. Trained as a cabinetmaker, he took up photography in 1949. He worked exclusively as a studio portraitist, chronicling Bamako's citizens over three decades. His skill at supplying his clients wit...h clothes, props, poses, and backdrops produced photographs with a dense, compelling individuality. And his oeuvre, of over 200, 000 photographs, depicts a founding stage in African modernization, as experienced in one thriving, expanding city. After a period photographing for the Mali government, Keïta gave up photography in 1977. His breakthrough in Europe in the early 1980s, followed by exhibitions worldwide, helped bring his work, and African photography generally, to wider critical and public attention.
