We all realise that special circumstances have now arisen. Aside from the economic crisis, which has had a serious impact on economic growth, the tragic events at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Station have added to the regions problems. Along with the issues we planned to discuss today, I also want to discuss with you the consequences of this accident, in the context of the work the Government is already carrying out on my instruction, and if need be, we can make the necessary adjustments to its efforts. We will discuss today the key economic tasks in the Siberian Federal District. I think that despite the current difficulties, we need to look to the future, look beyond the crisis, all the more so as most countries are already looking ahead. It is too early to say yet just how things will develop, but there are a number of optimistic signs in the global economy that at the very least force us to think about how to be ready for changes in economic life.
