The 2011 Massachusetts tornado outbreak was a rare (for the region) tornado outbreak in the New England region of the United States, which spawned multiple tornadoes on the afternoon and evening of June 1, 2011. As of 9:47 PM EDT, the violent storms—which included two confirmed tornadoes—had killed at least four people and injured several dozen more. At least 48000 electricity customers lost power. Because of the severe weather and resulting damage, Governor Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency for Massachusetts effective at 7:10 PM EDT on June 1. The US National Guard activated 1000 troops for rescue and recovery efforts in response to the declaration of emergency. Meteorological synopsis On the afternoon of June 1st, a severe weather system moved through the region. A tornado watch was issued at 1:00pm for much of New England. Around 3:30, the line of severe thunderstorms had reached Northampton. At 4:30pm, a tornado warning was issued for parts of western Massachusetts, including Springfield, at the same time a tornado was first reported in Westfield, Massachusetts. Over the next hour, damage was reported as far east as Sturbridge. Then, at 6:07pm, another tornado was reported in Westfield, and again through Springfield and Sturbridge, with the last report at 7:25. In addition to the above towns, Agawam, Charlton, Monson, Southbridge, Oxford, and Wilbraham all reported possible tornado damage. Platinum Premier stripclub bouncer beats up customer in bathroom & steals money

"WORCESTER, Mass. -- Worcester Police said they received tips Thursday that a nightclub bouncer assaulted and robbed a man in the club's bathroom. Police said a video of the incident was posted online by another bouncer who was filming the assault as it happened at the Platinum Premier Club located at 241 Southbridge St. Officers said the video showed the bouncer punching the victim in the face about four times, and taking money from his wallet. Detectives said the 25-year-old victim was a Worcester resident. Police said the victim told them that the attack happened on May 25. The victim said he didn't report the incident because he was afraid the bouncers will come after him. Police said they found that the bouncer, 35-year-old Easton Byfield, of Oxford, filed a report on May 25 stating that the victim assaulted him. Detectives said they arrested Byfield last Friday and charged him with assault and battery, kidnapping, unarmed robbery and filing a false police report. "
