A man has appeared in court accused of murder after his partner was found dead in her Arbroath flat. Joanne Rennie was found seriously injured at her home in the town's Culloden Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning following reports of a disturbance. Detectives launched a major search after Cathie Henderson was assaulted when she answered her door in the Hilltown area of the city on the night of Saturday September the 17th. In other news; An aid mission to drive fire engines from Tayside to Palestine has been halted by the authorities in Israel. Firefighters were told by customs officials at the sea port of Hi-fa that they didn't have the proper documentation to drive the final 50 miles to Nablus. And in sport; St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes should know within the next forty eight hours if he's landed the Bristol City manager's job. A man's been charged in connection with an alleged hit and run incident which claimed the life of a young Fife man. 20 year old Stephen McCann was struck by a car as he walked along the Leslie to Glenrothes road early on Saturday morning. He died at the scene. In other news; Crash investigators are still at the scene of a head-on lorry collision in Fife. The crash happened on the A914 south of the Forgan roundabout at around half past ten this morning. Both drivers are being treated in hospital in Dundee. Their injuries aren't life threatening. And in sport; St Johnstone moved level on points with third-placed Hearts after a stunninng last minute win over Hibs in Edinburgh.
