euronews science - Possible breakthrough in nuclear clear-up

Scientists in Japan think they may have found a way to remove caesium radiation from contaminated ground around the Fukushima nuclear plant damaged in the earthquake in March. It involves using microbes to attracts particles from the metal caesium in soil and water. So far results have been very encouraging and the scientists are keen to test the procedure on the ground as soon as possible.... www.euronews.net

The movement is 'Mars: the Bringer of War' Before I get into the details of the test, I want to clear up something very important. The title of this video is "Tsar Bomba - King of the Bombs - 57000000 Tonnes of TNT". Understand now that this test wasn't the result of a detonation of 57000000 Tonnes of TNT, but rather the nuclear yield EQUIVALENT of a detonation of 57000000 Tonnes of Trinitrotoluene. The actual weight of the device was 27 tonnes. And coincidentally, one tonne is taken as a metric tonne, or 1000 kilograms - (2200lbs). All units used in physics are metric. The reason the yield equivalent system is used is because the energy released from the explosion of a set amount of TNT is a constant. Second to that: I KNOW THE SCREENSHOTS AT THE END ARE OF THE CLOUD OVER THE GROUND. Jahrzehntelang hielten die Supermächte USA und UdSSR die Welt mit ihren Atomtests in Atem. Die Forschungsprojekte der Militärs waren streng geheim, auch die Folgen ihrer Versuche wurden unter Verschluss gehalten. Erst heute kann sich die Öffentlichkeit ein Bild von den Spuren machen, die das atomare Wettrüsten bei Mensch und Natur hinterlassen hat. Den Wissenschaftlern, die heute umfassende Studien durchführen, stellen die Behörden nur zögerlich brisante Informationen zur Verfügung und genehmigen widerwillig Reisen in die ehemaligen Hochsicherheitsgebiete. Zu sehen sind dort bizarre, entstellte Landschaften, aber auch unfassbares Leid. Expeditionen in die jeweiligen Atomtestgebiete werden zu Entdeckungsreisen in geheim gehaltene Welten. Für "Das Geheimnis der Atombombenversuche" hat sich Autor Gerold Hofmann auf den Weg zu einem nahezu unbekannten Schauplatz des Kalten Krieges gemacht. Er begleitet einen Geologen bei seiner Exkursion nach Semipalatinsk in Kasachstan. Auf dem ehemals größten Atomtestgebiet der Sowjetunion treffen die beiden unter anderem auf Landwirte, die trotz der Strahlung jahrzehntelang in ihren Höfen ausgeharrt haben und an den Spätfolgen der Versuche leiden.
