I originally intended to style it after an Intamin giga-coaster, but it looks like some B&M-hyper found its way in there too ;) Construction began in mid-February, and it took a long time to build it. I made many changes to the layout during the building process as well. I have to say this was the most fun I've ever had building a model knex roller coaster. FAQ: Q: How many Knex sets do you have? A: I don't know exactly how many, but I have at least 10 Screamin' Serpents, 2 Rippin' Rockets, and a lot of other assorted pieces Q: How long did it take you to build? A; About 4 months. I re-did the drop and first hill several times so that was a big part of the building process. Q: How did you make it work automatically? A: I used my Lego Mindstorms NXT robot to operate the motors for the lift hill, station, and brake run. Q: What camera did you use for the POV? A: I took a small Panasonic point-and-shoot camera and attached it to the front car, then pushed it through the coaster. Q: How tall is it? A: 7.5 long gray rods, or about 6 feet. Q: What program did you use to make the video? A: Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 Q: The drop shakes.
