| worldofwarcraft.tgn.tv — Frost Mage DPS rundown (episode 17 of 22) in World of Warcraft Cataclysm! We look at the spec and rotation for a Frost Mage, and analyze the testing results via Recount. All testing is done against a raid boss dummy with no buffs besides basic class abilities. Gear is level 333 premade junk. Frost is a lot of fun. It is based around Frostbolt as your main nuke, with fast reactions to the constant procs of Brain Freeze and Fingers of Frost. It feels like a dynamic dps cycle, despite only using a handful of keybinds. Really, the whole design should be held up as a great example of how to make a character. In order to calculate Deep Freeze, which does not do damage to dummies, I included some heroic footage and recount data. I figure that Deep Freeze does 15% of your personal dps, so I factored that in for a rough estimate of the "real" dummy data. Also, I was not using the new Glyph of Deep Freeze in the heroic footage, so I figured that the 20% from that glyph canceled out the 20% of my damage that came from the water elemental, so I simply took the dummy test results (6600) divided by .85 to get the "final estimate" of 7700. Feel free to criticize that, but the point is: it does great damage, and the heroic numbers with purple gear and a rampage buff supports that conclusion.
